There are several types of PVA SCRs.
Also now I promote the short name pSCR and those
assisted with O2 injection are ApSCR.

In DIR the big daddy is the fridge, from there and
others the rb2000 came, but it is not for sale, has
no back up on parts and no training. The unit is
considerably smaller as has no depth compensator,
different counter lung layout and cylindrical design
minimizing to in total 130 parts.

Halcyon was the first company to make the rb2000
design and call it rb80, we bought a couple of the
first batch and dove an rb80 halcyon for 5 years log
350hrs on it took it 390ft in Akumal wall scootering
form the shore with Shane Jeckel.
Took it to Florida and France where I found out
RB80 originally had different measurements and
use a different frame than the RB2000 design, but
had higher quality materials, but was less efficient
than the rb2000, that is why the rb2000 was
consider to be better, but construction is poor and
also is overpriced as originally Euro was way lower
than USdllr, when both units came out in the early
2000.
I did however got a rb2000 and was a pain to open
but had better efficiency dove it in italy and Mexico
mainly.

Then there were several one time mfg making
rb2000 identical units but with same or higher
quality than rb2000, some better finishing, also are
brand new and a reasonable price.
All core parts and spare parts, "O" rings, valves, in
fact all the other parts are interchangeable among
them.

Also the rb2000 frame is compatible among the
European rb mfg, only halcyon rb80 is not
compatible with the euro frame without latches
modification.
In fact the newer rb80 is not compatible in some
core parts, like counter lungs parts.
However switchblocks and mouthpieces
are all compatible among all rbs.

I replace the rb2000 with an AH1 and tought
several clases with students using RB100's and I
can tell you are all the same, but were not made by
a serious mfg and are old design now, 11yrs.

After dealing with the usual problems with this rbs
for 10 years and over 500hrs, I decide to improve
the main issues such as construction quality, avoid
teflon coatings problems and anodizing scratches,
besides application wise.

I wish rb were made built to last, while reducing the
work of breathing WOB and having the possibility
for various diving scenarios.

I experimented with a few pSCRs such as 3P, ron,
aegir, edo4, sartori but non of them had the points I
was loking for in a unit together high quality
componments and construction, as mfg didn't had
experience using pSCR before design or were not
DIR orientated, so miss a lot of points important for
me.
I made NT1 series pSCR rb to try solve most
problems of the best of previous pSCRs, modifiy
new plate and head change components and also
employ better materials for resistance while adding
user friendly characteristics and is also tool less. Is
tought to be compatible with traditional DIR
configured and use in most UTD courses.

NT2 series is a from scratch project, available
in April 2012.
