Exploration History and Updates 1995 Team members have been familiarizating with the systems since 1995, however it was not until 1999 that exploration began. 1999 The team muscle gear 3 miles thru thick jungle in horses, due to harsh condition, the expedition was limited to just one dive for 4 divers, two deep support and video and two gas divers who confirmed deep drainage lead a survey data to create a better dive plan in a future expedition, a mixed gas dive to max depth 270 ft and 500+ ft penetration was done, thru main tunnel ending at sight of the by pass. ( A restriction 5ft in diameter at 290 ft and a bigger pass at 310 ft, both are aprox 100 ft long joining a big chamber) Excellent footage was obtain. 2000 Expedition got a hold of thirteen horses and manage to haul enough gear for 4 dives support team set up safeties on the bypass at P650', deep deco bottles and habitat Oxygen, lead divers manage two full penetrations P1000+ and confirm on going cave at the end of line of B.M.B. tunnel and explore right side of the break down checking new leads, the main one narrow but did not end. 2001 Was dedicated to a major familiarization with both cave systems. New diving procedures and equipment were employed. This years efforts were put into finding the route from main entrance "Dos Ojos" to the Pit, to allow non expedition assaults to the Pit deep cave. Available maps proof obsolete. Also Nohoch dowstream section was inspect. This years efforts round up with about 100+ cave dives in EJP and 5000+ ft of explored and "re- explored" passages, which turn to be a bit harder than just following virgin cave, penetrations build up to the 10 000+ ft range from main entrances, route to the Pit still not found. Further exploration will require rb and long range scooters. 2002 This year the team has created a dedicated project with two main seasons, and several shorter assaults, expeditions to the Pit and all around resurvey. Also new rb80 and long range gavins been employed. Goals are inspection of lines in both systems and actualization of both maps, re- survey new lines, conection upstream from main dos ojos to the pit, conection between both cave systems, exploration uptream and search for more deep drainage entrances. Results by progress 2002 February, Dos Ojos, Survey of Main lines Dos Ojos April, Nohoch, Assaults inspecting Main line, Diaz line and X line, Pet cementery area, king pong/ tank off restriction and search leads from "Blue abyss" to the deep drainage. Also a ultralight flight allow gps readings of potential new cenote conections upstream and verify close vicinity between both systems, aerial footage permit study of the area coordinating gps reading with timed plotted flight. Report 1 July, Dos Ojos, RbTeam conduct several assaults searching for Pit expedition line conections , 10000 ft line were ad to upstream passages, inspection of all lines in the "Inch away zone" section and most lines of "LSD zone" were acomplish. Long bodys and short tow behind gavin scooters allow for Penetrations in the 12,000ft range in less than 5 hr dives. August, Dos Ojos, O/C assaults searching for upstream leads on the Gavin- Irvine line, locating new promising lead at 8250 ft, surveys and inspection of all lines in a 3000 ft radius around Tikimich area (5000ft), secure data to proof double level cave and solve misteries on the Tikimich area maze. September, Linking Main to the Pit. Conection made.
